Karma or Destiny
Do you believe in Destiny
Because if you do
I’ll tell you something,
But secrecy
Has to be a guarantee
From you to me.
People from everywhere
Once I start talking
Think I am crazy
And once I get done
With my story
They offer me water
And some of their meds.
I suppose they think
I’ve got a screw loose inside my head
Or perhaps short a few marbles;
That, I admit is probable.
But see,
I’ve tested my theory
From the mountains
To the sea
I have interviewed thousands
In all walks of life
I have taken polls
I even did a survey on my wife;
This, she took rather personally.
But let us not get off track.
Have you heard of karma?
Do you think it exits?
People I have talked to
Insists that it persists,
Yet how could karma take place
If destiny is at stake?
If some event is meant to happen
To certain people,
Then the man upstairs
Made a mistake.
Is it possible to achieve greatness
Whoever you are?
And what of the less fortunate,
The ill and the scarred?
Does richness or poorness
Trump others cards?
Accordingly what are the odds
For the dark skin toned individuals?
Are they to make it
Or be all alone?
Do you think success is measured
By what we accomplish on this planet
Or by what we endure?
What if we get what we want
By taking advantage?
Do we take this into account
As mounting evidence
When our life spans
Comes to end;
Further, will this be a factor
Between heaven and hell?
Perhaps success is over rated
Here on earth
And instead our Lord intended
Us to look at the big picture,
Because what we give we get
In the end
We get what we deserve.
