The Son’s Promise
"God's Private Thoughts"
Imagine as God,
You know beforehand
The errors
Made by mankind;
You can see
The end of their days
You do not need to take any surveys,
So to you, anything man does is no mystery.
Your people,
Swaying in their ways,
Lacking in faith,
And in such a hurry
Chasing money
To make claims on
Materialistic possessions,
So as to substitute
The Lord’s intentions:
You knew that to worship anything but the Lord
Was a sin.
Accordingly,
You see your people
In so much despair,
Lacking in direction
No longer having inspiration,
Yet knowing that
Even as God;
You could not
Step in.
This was fitting
Because a promise had been made
By your begotten son.
He promised them freedom
Regardless of their wrong.
Imagine as God,
Seeing your people’s null and void
Along with their insecurities;
Wishing that if you could
Just one time step in;
Knowing that they would
Enjoy life and see all its rewards,
And they would
Be at ease knowing there was a hereafter
With so much more to offer,
That their visit on Earth could never compare.
Nonetheless, even upon seeing
That all their empty
You could fulfill,
You could not step in
And intervene.
Knowing that although
You could make them complete
Like they were before,
When they were first born,
You did not forget though
That the promises made
By your son was now
Your biggest obstacle
As it forced restraint
In affording you the option
Of stepping in
Even if it meant to
You could save
Your own children.
Imagine as God,
The frustration you would feel,
The loss of control that you would experience;
By knowing that,
You could not interrupt
Mankind’s affairs.
This could not even compare
To being a parent,
Because unlike a parent,
This Father
Could not step in,
Even to end the dismay
And despair,
His children were at bay with.
Regardless of the
Conditions
Your children were in,
You could not dishonor
Your son’s agreement
By stepping in.
